The best shawarma I have tasted in California, made in the original way, elegant treatment and reasonable prices. It is worth visiting and trying. Also they catered our event couple of months ago and it was the best food ever
Spectacular, give me 14 of them right now!! No but seriously this place is AMAZING!!!! The food is so tasty i truly don't think I've ever had better Mediterranean food in my life!!!! Excellent service, very nice people and you can tell this is 1000% authentic!! I cannot wait to come back.
Their shawarma plates never disappoint. They're always busy for a reason! Everything is delicious and even though they're busy you're not waiting forever.
We tried sultans for their big platter, and everyone in the party liked the shawerma wrap. They are kind of stingy with the sauces. initially, they offer you one small tiny cup of sauce for a big platter. You have to ask for more. We had a dine in experience for falaeat falafel with rice? They make their own bread, but it is not included in the platter, and you have to pay for it. Their side orders the garlic potatoes, and the eggplant are really good.
This has to the best mediterranean food in bakersfield I get the Chicken Kabob Plate with cucumber salad, garlic potatoes and the sultan sauce. The service is nice and you can tell they are trying their best to move fast because it does tend to get busy but regardless the food makes up for everything. It's absolutely delicious I have no photos because my phone does not eat first when it comes to this place. 10/10
Great food and friendly service. They were busy on a Sunday afternoon but there were many employees making sure customers got what they wanted. I ordered the falafel plate and had to wait upwards of ten minutes for the falafel while the rest of our food sat in boxes on the counter, which I don't think is ideal. I will only knock off half a star for that. I like fresh food but if I have to wait that long for one item, I'd rather pay and take the food that is ready and sit down and eat while waiting for that one item instead of letting all of the food quality deteriorate. One of my kids said the trio salad bowl was "heavenly" :-) . The pita that came with my meal was rather hard-- maybe they toasted it. Not sure. Everything was really good though.
Stopped here for lunch based on a friend's recommendation while driving from the Bay Area to Joshua Tree, and this honestly turned out to be the highlight of the road trip. I ordered the #3 CHICKEN SHAWARMA PLATE ($15), which came with a generous serving of rice, a few garlic potatoes, your choice of two sides, and a pita. For my sides, I opted for one of baba ghanoush, and one split half cauliflower/half eggplant. Everything was good, but I especially loved the beautifully caramelized, roasted cauliflower and smoky, creamy baba ghanoush that added great flavor when mixed in with the rice. The pita was a bit of a letdown -- very thin and dry, and more reminiscent of pita crackers rather than pita bread. However, it went well as a vehicle for the dips, including the complementary scoop of garlic spread, and I completely cleaned out every last drop and grain of rice. Overall, ordering was very efficient given the assembly line setup, and the plate feels like good value for such tasty, diverse food. If I lived nearby I'd definitely be a regular and come back to try all the other sides.
I love this place. It's one of the select Mediterranean food restaurants I frequent in town. The food is always absolutely delicious. The customer service is always on point. I have not experienced any rude service since I've started coming here years ago. It's a great place to have lunch with a friend. The there's enough seating inside and outside, but I wouldn't recommend any large parties.
Fun Fact: Sultans means a king or ruler. And let me tell you... Sultans might be the new ruler of mediterranean food in Bakersfield. Ambiance I'd say it's a grab n' go spot. I imagine it's a top easy lunch or dinner option with seating indoor, outdoor or to be taken home. Service Friendly and informative! It's a go through a line experience like Chipotle. You get passed off from person to person, but everyone was in good-spirits. Line I read reviews that the line took a long time. This was not the case for me. It went pretty quick about 10 - 15 minutes. Food There are a supreme amount of options: chicken or beef shawarma, chicken or beef kabobs and a ton of vegetarian choices in the form of salads, dips, sides. Chicken Shawarma Wrap: 5 STARS It was a great portion: filling and flavorful! I was very satisfied with my choice! Going Back? Absolutely, I'll go visit the King of Mediterranean again!
We had had a busy morning. My oatmeal had long since disappeared, and we were near Stockdale and Coffee. Mediterranean is one of my favs, and while I usually opt for Flame & Skewers, we tried this place. If you're starving like I was, 12:40 on a Friday is probably not the best time. There were about 10 or 12 people ahead of us. I ordered the chicken kabob plate. (Pro TIP: If you're in a hurry, ordered the Shawarma. It's already cooked. No waiting.) They move you down the line, and you get to pick a couple of sides. We opted for the hummus and taziki. I also ordered a cucumber salad as a side. The line was bunched up. I wasn't familiar with the process. All I could see was my tray was covered. It took me a minute to figure out, my kabobs were being cooked. From the time we walked in the door to the time I sat at the table with my food, it was 30 minutes. What saved the whole experience was the food. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The garlic potatoes were delicious. The rice tasted like my grandmother's. and there were good portions to boot. Every excellent restaurant is going to have their busy times. I don't think we should fault them for that. The place has online ordering which I may explore for next time. Oh, and there will be a next time. There were a few more sides I want to explore.
